John Cavallaro's
Photos
Above photos of USS Higbee DD 806 in Subic Bay drydock, which
took a direct hit from a North Vietnamese MIG that dropped a 250 pound bomb
(dud) directly on the after mount. Mount had been cleared a few
minutes earlier due to a foul bore during gun line work. Incident took
place while Fox was on way to Viet Nam in April 1972.
Ran across these in our archives,
not published before; from Fox 1972 stint in Viet Nam, and USS Newport News in
Subic Bay, I think.
