Above photos of USS Higbee DD 806 in Subic Bay drydock, which took a direct hit from a North Vietnamese MIG that dropped a 250 pound bomb (dud)  directly on the after mount.  Mount had been cleared a few minutes earlier due to a foul bore during gun line work.  Incident took place while Fox was on way to Viet Nam in April 1972.

VietNamSalvo.jpg (42198 bytes) FoxPortSide72.jpg (27279 bytes) NewportNews1972.jpg (65092 bytes)  Ran across these in our archives, not published before; from Fox 1972 stint in Viet Nam, and USS Newport News in Subic Bay, I think.
