Fox alongside French pier in Manhattan, alongside Basilone DD-824 in Newport and at ammo pier in Earle, New Jersey. Earl was a lo-o-o-o-ong pier, reportedly one mile long. Ammo was delivered in a boxcar on the rail line on the pier, and then, of course, carried on by working party.  You could see New Jersey and NYC from that lonely pier, but they were both a ways off.
